The first book is written in a much more "utilitarian" manner than the second one.

The second book seems hell-bent on me reevaluating my decision to warehouse data. I understand the desire to proceed cautiously, but I have to question the motives of a textbook author insisting that I put the book down and walk away...
I like the first book. Seems more goal-oriented than the first book, and more of a reference material, rather than a textbook.
